Vote for LEE FISHER if you want jobs in Ohio

I have been an Ohio resident for almost all of my life. I have seen administrations come and go. The Senate race between Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Rob Portman is one that is troubling to me. I have sat and watched the mud slinging of Mr. Portman and would like to make a couple points of truth amongst his accusations.

Rob Portman says Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher is responsible for the job losses in Ohio. This is certainly a falsehood if there ever was one. Failed economic policies of the last presidential and governor administrations left this for Gov. Ted Strickland and Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher. Fact is, Rob Portman voted for NAFTA, which sent jobs to Mexico, and also voted for a trade agreement with China. Mr. Portman is much more responsible for the job losses than Lee Fisher is by far. Rob Portman wants to win a Senate seat based on jobs he sent away, which he is now trying to dump on Lee Fisher. This is absurd at best.
There is a bill that is set to give tax relief for small businesses to grow more jobs. Small business makes up about 80 percent of all the jobs in the United States. This is a good move for Ohio and the economy all over the United States. What does Lee Fisher say about this?
"Lee Fisher will always put Ohio jobs first -- not partisan politics," said Holly Shulman, Fisher's spokeswoman, as reported in the Columbus Dispatch.
Fisher's campaign said the small-business bill does not add to the deficit and includes provisions to promote small-business exports and access to capital, as well as deductions for start-ups.
This sounds pretty good to me, but what does Rob Portman say about this bill?
"Rob believes there's a better way to help small businesses than a TARP-like approach that would open the door for more government takeover of banks," said Jessica Towhey, Portman's spokeswoman, also reported in the Dispatch. She added that the $30 billion loan fund sets up a "government ownership stake in private banks. That expands government reach into private enterprise and puts taxpayer dollars at risk."
If you compare the ideologies of these two men, it is clear which one Ohio would benefit from. You want new jobs in Ohio? Vote Lee Fisher. I stand for Lee Fisher because he stands for me and you.
